- Nella notte tra il 24 e il 25 dicembre 1996 sono morte in mare, a largo di Capo Passero, 283 persone nel tentativo di arrivare in Italia. Forse la prima strage di migranti nel Mediterraneo.
Da allora hanno perso la vita oltre 30mila persone cercando di raggiungere il nostro paese.
I recenti accordi UE-Italia-Libia non fanno altro che spostare il confine sulla costa nord africana dove ora gli uomini che tentano di muoversi attraverso i continenti vengono vessati in condizioni disumane e addirittura battuti all’asta come schiavi.
Questo video parla di confini e della voglia di abbatterli.“Socialismo Tropicale” è rimasta fuori dal nostro ultimo disco perchè sapevamo che non poteva essere una canzone in mezzo ad altre.
A settembre siamo stati a Lampedusa: l’isola al centro delle cronache sulla migrazione e sulle stragi in mare degli ultimi anni e abbiamo sentito di collegare la canzone alle immagini dell’isola.In questo momento l’Unione Europea e il governo italiano, attraverso il ministro della difesa Minniti, si vantano del calo degli sbarchi di migranti sulle nostre coste, addirittura il 70% in meno. Non dicono che i rifugiati trattenuti in Libia versano in “condizioni disumane”, come dichiarato dall’ONU. Non dicono neanche che per chi riesce a tentare l’attraversamento del Mediterraneo perdere le vita è diventato ancora più facile.
Di tutto questo il nostro paese è complice.
Questo video vuole essere una piccola cosa per ricordarci quanto sia importante restare umani e prenderci la responsabilità di un primo passo verso l’altro e non rinchiudere le nostre vite dentro le mura di casa.

- L’idea di rifugiarsi nel trucco per avere un’altra possibilità ritorna anche nel videoclip del brano, in cui viene raccontata la storia di un giovane magazziniere intento a lavorare in un locale che, tra scatoloni e pulizie decide, in un momento a metà tra l’onirico e il reale, di coltivare il suo sogno di bambino: diventare un famoso lottatore di wrestling, trovando così un’alternativa alla sua frustrazione.
Protagonista del video è nuovamente Renato Avallone, attore del Terzo segreto di satira e la regia è sempre affidata a Davide Spina.
Prosegue quindi, per quanto riguarda copertina e videoclip, una forma di serialità iniziata con La legge di Murphy, una scelta che ha l’obiettivo di creare un immaginario estetico intorno alle canzoni di CIMINI e che da inoltre la possibilità di scoprire meglio questo cantautore.CREDITS VIDEO

It all floats around this intimate concept that we have probably all gone though at least once (or a million times) in our lives : the eternal conflict between who we are and who we want to be. This forces us to dig though the darkest corners of our mind to eventually find light again, separating from our old-self to born to a new life. Painful and scary but necessary.

Domenico is one of my very best friends and a grate human being. We grew up toghether, than we took different paths. But for his wedding I really wanted to create somenthing that could portrait him and the love for his wife.
This is what we filmed on our “pre-wedding vacation”. Love is everywhere.

I’m a director, a video maker, a story teller.
I don’t fit into the usual cliché “since I first picked up my parent’s camcorder, I knew I would be a director”, but I’ve built my career on principals such as commitment, passion, hard work, and will to get the best out of everything, always.
Over the past 10 years I’ve been travelling a lot and I lived in several cities around Europe. I have immersed myself in different cultures and met amazing people who have enriched me personally as much as a story teller. I have worked, and I still am, with several high level film productions and agency such as The Distillery GmbH (Austria), Fasnacht and Partner AG (Switzerland), Undervilla Production (Italy), Fastr.ch (Switzerland), RedBull (Austria), Floater Production (Canary Islands).
What always pushes me further to create is the endless possibilities that a powerful tool like the visual story telling can give to inspire people though reality, fantasy and everything that surrounds us.
